Het Klokhuis: Johnny Kelly

Opening titles or credit roles, are a clear space for motion design. From 7even to James Bond, opening titles reflect the creative spirit of motion graphics. Created as short films, that might or not be considered as the first scene in a movie, treated as art pieces, desginers and motion desginers work together to build long, expensive and time demanding pieces to introduce an audience to a motion picture. In this case, a trully joyfull piece for the opening titles for Het Klokhuis (apple core), a dutch tv program started on 1988. Oriented for children, this show presents non covnentional information that often catches the attention of adults.

Johnny Kelly uses stopmotion with 3d printing technology to mantain the properties of the logo. This technology is great, now you can model in 3d and then use it to print, or else build, to create real 3d objects. Give it a try, is nice and simple, beautiful colorful worlds. A nice apple going through crazy transformations. A good mix between animation, and stopmotion.
